We were headed back from Port Charlotte to Bonita Springs and when we saw the reviews of the Golden Rind, we made a quick U-turn on a hunch that this might be an awesome shop. This turned out to be a serendipitous move and we were rewarded with a slice of food-shopping heaven. If you are cheese-heads like we are (not the Green Bay kind, we are from Chicago after all), you'll be excited to find a first-rate and full selection of cheeses, including quite a few that we had never heard of in our 70+ years of cheese-travel. The shop also offers terrific accompaniments like mustards, pâtés, crackers and bead, preserves, kitchen gifts and tools, and a wine selection that beats the lists at most Florida upscale restaurants. (Aside from the former wine distributor I am: why is it that Florida restaurants have such mediocre and over-priced wines?) Golden Rind is ably and amicably run by two of the nicest and most knowledgeable cheesemongers we have ever met. We have hunted down cheese at some of the greatest stores around the world--Androuet in Paris, Peck in Milano, Fortnum & Mason and Harrod's in London, Ideal and Murray's in NYC, Cowgirl Creamery in SF, even Artisan in Sarasota--and Golden Rind ranks right up there as one truly enjoyable experience. Alex and Jeffrey are two charming brothers who know their stuff, and we walked out with a number of treasures. Definitely a keeper!

The staff and owners were super helpful and accommodating with helping me send a special surprise to my dad for his birthday, especially because I am out of state and hadn't been in the store before. They guided me in creating a beautiful cheese board paired with their recommendation for a bottle of wine. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful they were on the phone! One of the owners delivered it and my dad even commented on how nice he was. :) They loved the board and wine and will be visiting the store soon. They will be my new go-to for any upcoming special occasions in the area!

My girlfriends and I have been there a couple times and just love this place. As soon as you walk in the door it feels good. The brother who own and run this are nothing less than awesome. They are very professional, polite and a lot of fun. The charcuterie boards they arrange are simply the best and they allow you to customize whatever you want. We normally call ahead for this. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys wine, charcuterie's and hanging out in a fun cool place. We will be regulars.

I felt like we were given the royal treatment today. They were clearly busy with several orders and a wedding but the owner/staff still made time to put together an incredible board for us. The cheeses were excellent! So glad to live nearby. We will be returning often and this will be the place we go when friends and family visit.

Great spot ! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. From just stopping in for a glass of wine and some cheeses to their amazing wine tasting events, they never disappoint! Even when the rest of the world was shut down during Covid they still kept things going with virtual wine tastings and I am forever grateful for that !
Also highly recommend to anyone looking for a yummy charcuterie board as they are all amazing, fresh and beautiful !
